A five-day diet that tricks your body into thinking it's fasting may be quietly rolling back your biological clock.
Researchers analyzed data from multiple human clinical-trial cohorts in which participants completed three to four monthly cycles of a specially formulated fasting-mimicking diet — a real-food program calibrated to deliver the metabolic signals of fasting while still providing calories. Across cohorts, they tracked insulin resistance, liver fat accumulation, the ratio of lymphoid to myeloid immune cells, and composite biological-age scores derived from blood-based biomarkers, measuring all outcomes before the cycles began and again after completion.
